Holiday crafts, food and fright were served up in style at the 3rd Annual Holiday Bazaar & Craft Faire at Pleasant Grove High School on Oct. 25. PGHS Band Booster Club hosted the annual event that brings the community in to support the musical arts. Band Director Jay DeWald said the event is just one of many supported by the club.
“We just couldn’t do anything without their support,” said DeWald. “They work tirelessly to help by setting up for us before concerts and doing fundraisers for trips and events. Last year, one of the parents even bought the band a trailer for hauling equipment.”
Every imaginable craft was displayed by vendors for holiday shopping. Candy, tamales and baked goods were enjoyed by many who attended.
But the favorite of younger event-goers was the tour of the "Haunted High School." Cobwebs, skeletons, graveyards and monsters gave all a fright as visitors toured the campus. Band Booster President Holly Yue said the event is always appreciated by the community. “It just seems to grow every year,” said Yue. “It’s a community experience, and the kids always especially love the haunted house.”
Yue added that the event has been very popular in the community and raises around $2,000 for the band yearly.
