As part of the Wilton Fire Protection District (WFD) fire prevention program, fire marshal Randy Shelton is working to educate all residents on minimum standards for driveways. “This is a good time to remind residents about minimum standards for driveways as our weed abatement program is getting underway,” Shelton said. “According to code, a single family driveway shall be 16 feet wide by 14 feet in height to allow for emergency apparatus access.” Driveways for more than one family must be 18 feet wide by 14 feet in height.
